The body of Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch, is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh from Singapore on Friday evening (19 December). He died at around 9:45pm on Thursday (18 December) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore.
In a statement issued by the Inqilab Manch at around 1:30am, it was said that Hadi’s body would be flown to Dhaka on a commercial Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, departing Singapore at 3:50pm local time on Friday. The flight is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 6:05pm.
Prior to the repatriation, Hadi’s first funeral prayer (janaza) will be held at 10:00am on Friday at the historic Angullia Mosque in Singapore. His second janaza will take place in Bangladesh on Saturday (20 December) after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. The Inqilab Manch has called on people from all walks of life to attend the funeral prayer.
Osman Hadi was critically injured on 12 December after being shot in the head by assailants during an election campaign in the Purana Paltan area of Dhaka. Following initial treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Evercare Hospital, he was taken to Singapore for advanced medical care on Monday (15 December). He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night while under treatment.
