Plans are underway to take Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Manch and a prospective independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, abroad for advanced medical treatment. The information was confirmed on Sunday morning by Hadi’s family members and multiple relevant sources.

Sources said a decision could be taken within the next 72 hours to transfer him to a nearby country for treatment, with Singapore being considered as a possible destination.

Due to Hadi’s critical condition, Chief Adviser of the interim government Muhammad Yunus has assured that he will be sent abroad if necessary for medical care. The government will take all required measures in this regard, officials said. Hadi’s family and the Inqilab Manch have already been in contact with the government, which has pledged full cooperation.

Although Hadi has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital, his condition remains critical, sources said. A press conference was held by the Inqilab Manch outside Evercare Hospital at around 11:00pm on Saturday night, where the organisation’s member secretary, Abdullah Al Jaber, said that while Hadi’s condition had shown slight improvement, he was still not out of danger.

Earlier on Friday night, Dr Abdul Ahad, a neurosurgeon at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, briefed the media outside Evercare Hospital after enquiring about Hadi’s condition. He said Hadi’s vital organs were functioning reasonably well and that he might not require further surgery.
